The Law of Increase
Tues 04-02-13

[Dr. Murdock opened by saying:]
Thank you very much for helping with Nigeria
[prayer]
Father, thank You. And as we focus on the Law of Increase, make us aware–make us aware that it’s our responsibility to multiply. That was Your instruction to Adam & Eve. It’s been Your instruction ever since. You are a God of multiplication. Thank You for teaching us areas where we should increase. And thank You for teaching us the difference between the areas that we should and should not increase in. We’re receivers today. Amen.
Amen.
Praise God.
Our focus tonight is continuing on in the 72 Laws of Life.
[review for first-timers]
There’s a difference between the Person of Jesus and His Principles.
There’s a difference between the Life of God and the Laws of God.
One’s a King, and one’s a Kingdom.
The Person of Jesus relates to our heart.
The Principles He taught relate to our minds.
There’s 72 Laws that’ve really got Dr. Murdock’s attention .
(However, there’s many more that exist)
notes
The first instruction God gave us in the Garden of Eden,
to Adam & Eve, was to multiply.
To replenish.
So the Law of Reproduction, and Increase was there.
Angels cannot multiply.
Angels are not omnipresent (as far as we know)
Angels cannot be everywhere, that’s why there’s “messenger” angels,
very different than the Holy Spirit, Who not only can be a tangible
Presence, but a universal Presence.
Ps 139
“If I make my bed in hell, He’s there…if I sin, He’s there…”
Angels do not reproduce, and we don’t know if they even anticipated the
reproductive process with Adam & Eve, but God gave animals and us–
not angels, demons–but to us, He said to reproduce.
In that instruction, He said, I want you to become more than what you are.
I want you to increase.
In Deuteronomy 1:11, God says to Israel,
I wish you were 1,000 times what you are.
I wish you were 1,000 times multiplied.
Deuteronomy 1:11 (KJV)
(The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so
many more as ye are, and bless you, as He hath promised you!)
God is incredibly pleasures through the Law of Increase.
There’s a great conflict among the body of Christ about the Law of Increase.
Words have tones and colors in our emotional world.
Dr. Murdock loves the word “prosperity” [ and “sizzle” 🙂 ]
while some of our brethren prefer “blessed” or “generous”.
Regardless, this Law of Increase is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
Let’s get comfortable and familiar with the way God thinks.
God is very calibrated, to be sure, and there’s a way He likes to receive
something.
We’re similar.
ex: There’s a way that I like to receive food, and a way that
I don’t like to receive it.
>> Separated food: some of us don’t like the
spinach juice running over into the potatoes, etc.
side note: Dr. Murdock likes colorful (orange, blue, turquoise)
plates–not the expensive china-type plates [gift idea?]
> It’s important in life to know what you like.
> Customize your world, your house, your luggage.
The most comforting thought the poor cultivate is that the rich may be unhappy.
And so you may not be comfortable with the Law of Increase.
But let’s look at what Jesus says here:
John 10:10 (KJV)
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Paul says in:
2 Corinthians 9:6 (KJV)
But this I say, he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
In Job’s world, satan was the one who wanted to shrink what you have,
but the Bible says, that when Job prayed for his friends his own adversity
was turned around and God gave him twice as much as he had before.
In Genesis, Isaac sowed into the land and in the same year he reaped 100-fold.
All throughout the Bible there’s phrases like:
“the liberal soul shall be made fat”
Jesus in
Luke 6:38 (KJV)
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Mark 10:28-30 (KJV)
Then Peter began to say unto him, “Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.” And Jesus answered and said, “Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
“…now…”
“…an hundredfold now in this time…”
In this life.
There’s nothing shy about God.
In fact, He even commends those who approach the throne of grace with boldness.
Ps 84:11
And God equates good things with increase.
“the liberal soul shall be made fat”
All through the Bible, poverty is connected with
disobedience, not following a law of God’s.
And blessing is connected with obedience.
Look at Deuteronomy 28.
That’s what Elijah tried to communicate
to the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17,
that her lack of food was not the will of God.
And he gave her an instruction that became the seed for prosperity.
Instructions are seeds for increase.
“If you do this…this is what I will do for you…”
Check out
Isaiah 1:17-19 (KJV)
Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord : though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.
331 references in the Bible to my personal decision making.
I must make a decision.
The decision I make to obey becomes
the decision I make for prosperity, for increase.
31 Places in Dr Murdock’s book where God wants to increase you.
> some examples where He wants you to increase:
>> love, miracles, knowledge, protection, patience, etc
Whoever’s talking you out of it…
is causing this invisible seething
on the inside of you. It’s like stopping
a dog from barking–it’s unnatural.
It is natural to want to multiply.
It is natural–it is Scriptural–to want to increase.
In the Bible, when a woman had many
children, she was considered blessed.
Remember the Scripture where it talks about
a man’s children are like arrows in his quiver?
Dr. Murdock’s father liked to quote that verse.
Somewhere along the path, we got
taught that we should not want more.
And we took a Scripture “…whatever state you’re in therewith to be content…”
God put a passion for increase in you.
Now satan distorts it & will try to get
you to go to the wrong source for it.
Or he’ll try & get you to want
something you haven’t qualified for,
and aim to get you unsettled & unrested
in what God has already done for you.
But the Law of Increase is a Divine law on the earth.
(even dogs make love)
There’s an inherent passion for multiplication, for more.
There’s 3 Areas That It’ll Be Good To
Work With On The Law Of Increse:
#1) Accept that increase is a natural, human, Scriptural desire inside of you
>> you can’t fast, pray, anoint it with oil away
#2) If God is your source, you won’t want anything outside of His will
>> If He’s the authority in your life, you won’t be
asking for something that He doesn’t approve of.
>> This passion to pleasure God is rich, it’s glorious, wonderful
#3) Make up your mind that you want to increase in order
>> you can increase in goods, and not increase in order
>> you can increase in clothes, and not increase in order
>> you can increase in your job or have
several businesses, and not be in order
But everyday say, Father I want to increase
>> in my knowledge of You; and in my passion to pleasure You
>> in my passion to obey You
>> in order

Accept that God wants you to increase.
Every time you increase, you’ll feel pleasure.
Every time you decrease, you’ll be unhappy.
Increase in productivity.
Where do you want to increase?
God will bring you into balance.
Focus your desire for increase.
Put in front of you what’s good to increase in.
Father, thank You for this time together. We don’t want to be jealous of others, and where they’ve increased because we have so many things to be thankful for. But most of all, we want to increase in order. Increase in our personal life, our world. We want to increase where You receive the glory. Thank You.
